With a sly move the Kansas City Chiefs are making it clear that there’s interest in West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith? The question is how come? It’s most likely a smoke screen for taking the no.1 pick overall in the 2013 NFL Draft.
Smith said to Jim Corbett “I hope Kansas City is legitimately interested.” He is one of the more talented quarterbacks in the draft and a scout for the Chiefs compared him to a young Donovan McNabb. Several teams will also work him out during the week to gauge their interest.
If anything is to happen it means a team is going to make an offer that the franchise can’t refuse to take the quarterback. At the moment it’s not one of the team’s needs with the acquisitions of Alex Smith from the San Francisco 49ers and Chase Daniels of the New Orleans Saints.
